MAAK HAUS IS EXCITED TO PARTNER WITH ELEEN HALVORSEN ON THE LAUNCH OF HER NEWEST COLLECTION OF BAGS - A CONTEMPORARY APPROACH TO SPARSE, GEOMETRIC PATTERNMAKING.

JAY MIRIAM: What is the relationship between black and red?

ELEEN HALVORSEN: It’s a dance between two lovers. Both are equally demanding of attention, yet complimenting each other at the same time.

JM: What is your favorite part about working with leather?

EH: Leather keeps you on edge. One little mistake and you’re done. There’s no recovery from a wrong seam; the permanent holes just sit there staring at you.

JM: Does the bag campaign have a secret? Something to hide?

EH: The backpacks originated from a very unsuccessful hood pattern for a coat, from one of my first collections.

JM: Who is your favorite monster?

EH: The one inside my head.

JM: Where does the nomad dream?

EH: By the open ocean, under the full moon.
